Here are some of the books that I've enjoyed reading.

Fantasy:

Lord of the Rings series: For anyone who wants a world rich with life. Tolkien packs a lot into his books. I recommend the Lord of the Rings set as well as the Hobbit. Some of his other works are a bit tougher to get through, but if you enjoy the afore mentioned books, it might be worth it to check out his other works.

Wheel of Time series: Much like the Lord of the Rings books, Wheel of Time is also a rich Fantasy world. Robert Jordan also has plenty of characters for the reader to connect with. They are a bit more magic heavy than the Lord of the Rings books. Jordan's creatures and races are a fair bit away from the norm as well, which is quite refreshing. A word of warning, it is a long series.

Saga of Old City: The first book is Gary Gygax's Greyhawk Adventures series. As a fan of D&D, this book was a fun read. It isn't particularly complex (like some of the other books/series on my recommendations list.) If you are looking for a light read and enjoy D&D, this is a good book to check out.

Earthsea Cycle series: An excellent read for Fantasy book fans. Unlike the last entry on my list, this series is quite deep. At first glance, the books may appear to simply be an easy straight forward read. However, as you start to delve into the book, you begin to realize that Le Guin's underlying themes are quite powerful and meaningful. Definitely worth a read!

Magician: Apprentice: While Raymond E. Feist has written many books that I enjoy, this is one of his best. It is the first of many series that take place in the world of Midkemia. This book, along with the rest of the Riftwar Saga (and many of his others) is a must read. It is rich with many of the staples that Fantasy readers love.

Harry Potter: Though more geared toward teens and slightly younger, the Harry Potter books are en excellent read. They bring you into the magical world that sits beneath the surface of modern day England. It was quite enjoyable to see the magic and fantasical creatures of Fantasy novels put into a modern day time period. Rowling did this in such a way that brings you wanting more at the end of each book. The characters are fun, the adventures are great, and the overall story is quite good.

Science Fiction:

Timeslingers: Season 1: A fast-paced time travel adventure by Jay Sherer. Yea, I am a little biased (he is my brother.) Nevertheless, this is an excellent book! It is a good take on time travel. If you are a fan of Science Fiction, you should take a look at this excellent adventure novel!

The Time Machine: Another tale of time travel. Wells spins a tale of intrigue about a man who travels through time on his time machine. The numerous stops along the way are both fun and quirky. A main portion of the book revolves around a future society that has split into two different groups. It is worth the read.

Death Hunt on a Dying Planet: Cyborgs, Robots, explosions, and all manner of Sci-Fi fun! Though it may seem a bit cheesy to people who are used to the more modern Science Fiction novels, this book is an excellent adventure into the genre.

More to come in the future!
